Graduated
from Rachna Sansad’s Academy of Architecture in 1994 and followed it up with a
Diploma in Journalism from Xaviers Institute of Communication. She has been a
Visiting Design Professor since 1995 at Academy of Architecture.
Her varied interests led her to work in a number of arenas- of design, research, writing and teaching. From being an Assistant Editor at Indian Architect and Builder magazine for a few years to Senior Design Associate with Sameep Padora and Associates for many years, she has also run her own practice as an overseas outsourcing studio. She managed the FAB Biennale in 2018, which was an eclectic conference of international speakers on the cutting edge of design technology; and curated various design competitions for the AEC industry. She set up a studio for providing app-based design services.
She is currently collaborating with Auroma Architecture, Puducherry as Studio head and with Educated Environments, to encourage environmental education among school children.
Through multi-disciplinary learnings, she loves finding connections and is keenly interested in studying behavioural science and its impact on spatial design. She has recently discovered the fascinating world of cultural connections between anthropology and economics and has been pursuing the same through online forums.
She believes that reading and writing well are an integral aspect of design and continues to read across genres. Having written a foreword for a recently published book Cue- A conversation starter in Content-Led Experience Design (Seema Lele), she was also a part of the In the Name of Housing published by sP+a, she is interested in having students express themselves with clarity in the written and visual domain.
Mythili, remains a perennially curious learner.
