Kausik Mukhopadhyay is an artist and educator based in Mumbai. He currently teaches at the School of Environment and Architecture. His artistic work cuts across multiple mediums, but he primarily thinks through kinetic and static installations that repurpose "junk" - old electronic items, discarded household objects, etc in order to rethink everyday relationships via associations and memories with work that ranges from whimsical to unsettling. Kausik’s work has widely been exhibited in India and abroad. He holds a BA (Visual Art) from Rabindra Bharati University in Calcutta, MA (Fine Arts) from Viswa Bharati University in Shantiniketan and fellowships at the Kanoria Centre for Art at CEPT, Ahmedabad, and the Inlaks Foundation.
