Malaksingh graduated in 2001 from the Rachana Sansad’s Academy of Architecture, Mumbai. His training with architect Laurie Baker in Kerala inspired his keen interest and engagement with local traditional building materials, construction techniques and crafts since 1999. He has completed his post graduate diploma in Natural Resource Management from the Ecological Society of India, Pune. He has actively engaged with the field and has been involved in various workshops including workshop on arches, vaults and domes at the Auroville Earth Institute, Permaculture workshop at Maharashtra Nature Park and International Symposium on Earthen Architecture at I.I.Sc., Bangalore.
He has built extensively in various parts of Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh; and taught at various schools of architecture in Mumbai. His practice and teaching are focussed around environment and culture sensitive research and practice.
